Lectures

We are delighted to welcome back Philip Ashford to The Barn to deliver his talk on Piracy in the Bristol Channel.

The talk is based on original research completed by Philip and conveys material that is mainly ‘unknown’ and unpublished.
A whole range of notable events took place in the Bristol Channel of a martial nature between 1450 and 1700 involving ships from many nations. Philip brings some of these events to light in a very visual style and endeavours to explain the background to many of the circumstances: You will be surprised!

Refreshments available on arrival and during talk. Cash and card payments accepted.

Free parking on site. Parking for this event will be at the Barn, BS36 1SE.

The primary purpose of this event is to raise money for WMBT and to support conservation, management, maintenance and improvement of the WMBT site.
