Summer Family Craft Day

Join us for A Midsummer Night’s Dream inspired family crafts session. We’ll be making donkey ears, wands for spells, magical outfits, and mysterious potions. See you there with a sprinkling of fairy dust!
Recommended for ages 5-11 years (approx)

Ticket price is per family so please advise how many children will be attending at the time of booking.

These workshops will be held in our beautiful main barn so there is plenty of space to move around and get creative!

A responsible adult will need to remain at the barn with the child / children attending.

Fused Glass Workshop

Location: Winterbourne Medieval Barn

Join local glass artist, Rachael Durkan from The Glass Cabin for one of her popular fused glass workshops where you can make your own unique and beautiful item for yourself or as a gift. You have the option of making a Bristol Balloon, Beach Huts Panel or Freestyle Hanging.

Suitable for complete beginners as well as those who’ve caught the fused glass bug!

You will have 2 hours to create your masterpiece, using a variety of pre-cut glass and glass accessories in an array of beautiful colours. There will be plenty of templates to choose from or you can create your own design. Rachael will have lots of ideas to inspire you and is on hand with design advice throughout the workshop.

PLEASE NOTE – Rachael will take your finished piece away to be fused in her kiln. It will be available for collection from the barn or Rachael directly a couple of weeks after the workshop.

This workshop is suitable for age 16+ (under 18's must be accompanied by an adult)

Parent & Child Fused Glass Workshop

Come and spend a lovely morning with your child / tween / teen and local glass artist, Rachael Durkan from The Glass Cabin for one of her popular fused glass workshops where you can enjoy spending some creative time together during the half term break.
Each participant will make their own unique and beautiful item: you have the option of making a Bristol Balloon, Beach Huts Panel or Freestyle Hanging.

Wine Tasting Evening

Ian Redfearn is back again this year to guide us through a range of summery white, rosé and red wines from Chile and Argentina in this informative but fun workshop. With 25 years experience in the wine trade, Ian makes the ideal host for the evening. He will give some background information on each wine's individual appearance, aroma and flavour, and he will welcome questions and comments. Guaranteed to be a merry evening!

Strictly over 18s only. Please drink responsibly.

Parking for this event is at the Barn, BS36 1SE. There is plenty of bicycle parking available for those arriving on two wheels.

Nearest bus stops are Beacon Lane, Winterbourne George and Dragon, or Parkside Ave. From Beacon Lane it is a 5 - 10 minute walk to the barn along Church Lane. From the High Street it is a 10-15 min walk to the barn along Church Lane.
There are plenty of taxi firms serving the area.

Easter Crafts and Trail

Get creative with us at the Barn this Easter. We'll be making Easter puppets, crafting egg-scellent egg pockets for our springtime furry friends, creating our very own bunny ears, and then we'll send you off on an Easter trail around the Barn! Fun for all the family!

Ticket price is per family and includes an Easter treat per child - please advise how many children will be attending and of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.

These workshops will be held in our beautiful main barn so there is plenty of space to move around and get creative!

Aimed at 7-11 year olds (approx).
A responsible adult will need to remain at the barn with the child / children attending. The Easter trail is for everyone to get involved and children will need to be accompanied by their adult whilst exploring the site hunting for eggs!

Fused Glass Workshop

Join Sarah Aumayer from Mydsomer Studio for one of her popular fused glass  workshops where you can make your own unique and beautiful item for yourself or as a gift. You have the option of making a candle arch, curve shape or flat hanging.

Suitable for complete beginners as well as those who’ve caught the fused glass bug!

You will have up to 2 hours to create your masterpiece, some people will finish more quickly. In this workshop you’ll create your own design on a pre-cut flat piece of glass. Sarah will have lots of ideas to inspire you, including some of her own work.

The glass is 23x7cm or 15x15cm. She’ll show you some basic cutting techniques to create your shapes, and give you tips on how best to get the finished look. Uncomplicated designs tend to work best, the beauty of the glass enhances even the simplest of patterns.

PLEASE NOTE – Sarah will take your finished piece away to be fused in her kiln. It will be available for collection from the barn a couple of weeks after the workshop
